Our founder was planning a trip and wanted to do something special for his kids β an 8-year-old and a 5-year-old β while he was away. So he did something a little silly, and a little magical: he took their two favourite stuffed animals with him.
A blue cat stuffy. A golden bear. And a beach in Punta Cana.
He photographed the stuffed animals at the beach, wrote a short message in their voice, and sent it home as a postcard. The kids absolutely lost it. They talked about it for weeks. They showed their friends. Their friends wanted one too.
"I didn't expect it to land the way it did. It wasn't just cute β it felt like the stuffed animals were really there. That they had their own story. I thought: if this works for a blue cat stuffy, imagine what it could do for someone's actual pet."
β Our Founder
That was the moment WanderTales was born. Not from a business plan β from watching kids light up at a postcard and thinking: every pet owner deserves to feel that. Every pet has a story worth telling. The only question was how to make it real.
The original travellers ποΈ
Long before WanderTales existed, these two were already sending postcards home from Punta Cana. The kids still have them framed.
With AI image generation reaching a point where a pet could be placed photorealistically into any destination in the world, the idea became buildable. Real postcards. Real pets. Real destinations. A funny, personal message written in their voice β and a physical card in your mailbox every single week.
Wander + Tales + Tails
Three meanings hidden in one name. The journey, the stories, and the pets who deserve them.
WanderTales is still early. We're a small, passionate team building something we genuinely believe in β the idea that your pet has a story worth telling, and that story deserves to arrive in your mailbox as something real, something physical, something you want to frame.
